Alexander commits to Bowdoin College for 2019-20

Ottawa, Ontario – The Ottawa Jr. Senators are proud to announce that ’98 D Joe Alexander has committed to NCAA Division 3 Bowdoin College for the 2019-20 season.

Alexander, 20, was originally recruited by Assistant Coach Jamie Mayo prior to the 2017-18 season. In his rookie season, he totaled two goals and 11-points in 52-games. He helped lead Ottawa to their first Bogart Cup in 16-years and their first Fred Page Cup in franchise history, playing in 20 total playoff games.

Alexander said that their highly ranked academic program is one of the reasons he committed to Bowdoin.

“The school is highly reputable and for me personally, it is a tremendous academic and athletic fit. Couldn’t be more happy to commit there. They have great history and tradition.”

The graduating defenseman said that they belong to the best academic/overall conference in all of the NCAA., making this decision an easy one for him.

The Chicago, Illinois native attended Lake Forest Academy for three years before joining OJS last season. After going to the NAHL in the off-season, he was reacquired by Ottawa in December.

The Jr. Senators organization wishes Joe all the best next season, and are proud to have been apart of his development.
