Blacksmith's big night helped the Junior Senators crush the Nationals 7-3

Chiwetin Blacksmith had a big night with 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists) as the Ottawa Junior Senators crushed the Rockland Nationals 7-3 in a home game at Jim Durrell Sports Complex – Arena 1 in Ottawa. As well, the Ottawa Junior Senators' offense had a big night, peppering Rockland with 32 shots throughout the game. The Ottawa Junior Senators took the lead late in the second on a goal from Griffin Mcgregor.

Owen Guy delivered for his team with 2 goals and Silas Mattawashish contributed with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist). Jordan Power did his part, adding 2 assists.

In the first, Engram opened the scoring for Rockland with a goal at 3:35 with helpers from his teammates Boyer and Power. Shields ‘c’netted a goal at 7:42 with helpers from Stanley and Power. Mattawashish finally put the Junior Senators on the board with a goal at 16:24 with an assist from defenseman Mccabe.

In the second period, Guy deposited a goal at 7:24 with helpers from his linemates, Lalonde and Blacksmith. Guy netted a goal at 16:23 with assists from Lalonde and Bisson. Mcgregor quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 17:01 with helpers from Blacksmith and Mccabe.

During the third period, Mattawashish put in a goal at 11:04 with assists from his linemates, Anderson and Blacksmith. Brisebois answered for the Nationals with a goal at 17:02 with helpers from his linemates, Leblanc and Blanchette. Blacksmith quickly followed with a goal at 17:49 with assists from Bisson and Mattawashish. Veillette quickly followed with a goal at 18:24 with helpers from Daniels and Drouin.

The Junior Senators’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Boisvert’s big night as he stopped 1 of the 2 shots he faced. Boisvert’s counterpart, Storr, also had a big night, managing to stop 25 of 32, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Ottawa Junior Senators’ record to (6-2-0-0).
