Blacksmith's hat trick helped the Junior Senators crush the Lumber Kings 4-0

Chiwetin Blacksmith led the way with a hat trick as the Ottawa Junior Senators crushed the Pembroke Lumber Kings 4-0 in a home game at Pembroke Memorial Centre (PMC) in Ottawa. Moreover, the Ottawa Junior Senators' offense had a big night, peppering Pembroke with 31 shots throughout the game, to go along with Connor Hicks' shutout. The Ottawa Junior Senators took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Chiwetin Blacksmith.

Zachary Salloum contributed with 2 assists and Nick Lalonde had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 2 assists.

In the second, Blacksmith opened the scoring for Ottawa with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 10:34 with helpers from Salloum and Lalonde.

In the third, Blacksmith deposited a goal at 6:10 with helpers from his teammates Salloum and Guy. Blacksmith put in a goal at 13:35 with assists from his linemates, Lalonde and Guy. Evans netted a goal at 18:22 with an assist from Mcgregor.

Ottawa’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Hicks’ shutout, as he stopped all 30 of the shots he faced. Hicks’ counterpart, Smith, also had a big night, managing to stop 27 of 30, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Ottawa Junior Senators’ record to (3-1-0-0).
