Commitment Alert | Jr Senators Francis Boisvert commits to St. Lawrence University

Ottawa, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League and Ottawa Jr Senators are pleased to announce that goaltender Francis Boisvert has committed to NCAA St. Lawrence University for the 2019-20 season.

The 1999 Blainville, QC native recently completed his second and final season in the CCHL with Ottawa where he compiled a 31-11-0 record, with a 2.19 GAA, .920 SV%, and 3 Shutouts. It was in the postseason where his game really took off as he sported a 12-2 record with a 1.46 GAA, .945 SV%, and 3 Shutouts, enroute to a Playoff MVP and Bogart Cup Championship.

“We are extremely proud of Francis because we know how hard he has worked to earn this opportunity,” said Jr Senators Head Coach Martin Dagenais. “He came out of nowhere last season to become the best goalie in our league. His play during the months of April and May was a big reason why we were able to have success as a team and reach the National Junior A tournament for the second year in a row. Although he is a quiet individual, he was a leader in his own way, and will be missed in the dressing room.”

“I think it’s also important to give credit to our goalie coach Stéphane Levere for the work he’s done with our last four starting goaltenders. Three of them moved on to NCAA Division 1 hockey and the other is playing at the U-Sports level here in Canada.”

Prior to his time with the Jr Senators, Boisvert played for Ulysse Prep U18 of the CAHS.

Boisvert is the fifth Jr Senators talent to commit to the NCAA for this coming school year, joining Darcy Walsh (Robert Morris), Ethan Manderville (Colgate), Adrien Bisson (Maine), and Joe Alexander (Bowdoin).
