Four Jr. Sens alumni capture respective NCAA conference championships

Ottawa, ON – With the NCAA Division I conferences in playoff season, the Ottawa Jr. Senators were well represented in both the ECAC and the WCHA conference championship.

Tucker McIntosh (2019-2020), Francis Boisvert (2017-2019), and Cam White (2015-2017) were all apart of St. Lawrence University, who captured their first ECAC Championship in 20 years.

After finishing the regular season in third place at 5-8-2, St. Lawrence met former Jr. Senator Ethan Manderville (2018-2019) and Colgate University in the ECAC semi-finals. It was a game to remember for Tucker McIntosh as the freshmen tallied his first two NCAA goals in the 5-4 overtime win.

In Sunday’s conference championship game, SLU found themselves down by a goal heading into the third period and forced overtime yet again by tying the game late. Hawkesbury Hawks grad David Jankowski was the hero in the opening stages of overtime to secure the 3-2 win.

Cameron White concludes his four-year run at St. Lawrence playing a career 80 games, recording five assists. The former OJS captain played 141 games in the CCHL scoring eight goals and adding 26 assists.

Francis Boisvert wraps up his sophomore season at SLU after getting into one game this past season. While with the Jr. Sens, Boisvert was the backbone to the team’s second straight Bogart and Fred Page Cup, winning the NJAC’s Top Goaltender and MVP award.

Tucker McIntosh decided to attend St. Lawrence a year early, and it’s safe to say he slid in at the right time. The former CCHL third-team all-star recorded an assist in his very first NCAA game, followed by the aforementioned two-goal game in the ECAC semi-finals vs Colgate. In just one season with OJS, McIntosh was a member of Team Canada East at the WJAC and tallied 11 goals and 22 assists in 55 games.

In the WCHA, Lake Superior State was hot all season, mostly because of former Jr. Senators sniper Pierre-Luc Veillette (2017-2018). The Lakers finished second place in the conference and had a brief stint in the national top-15 poll at 19-6-3.

LSSU secured consecutive 4-1 victories over Alabama-Huntsville and Bemidji State, setting up a 6-3 win over Northern Michigan to win the conference title.

Veillette ends his junior season at LSSU, with a nomination to the conference’s third-all-star team under his belt. The Drummondville, Québec native totaled a career-best 13 goals along with 11 assists in 27 games this season.

During his time with OJS, Veillette was a member of the league’s all-graduate team and this all-star team as he scored 33 goals and added 32 assists in 61 games as the Jr. Sens captured their first Bogart Cup since 2002, along with the franchises’ first Fred Page Cup.

The Ottawa Jr. Senators organization congratulates all four graduates on this significant accomplishment and wishes them the best at their respective regional tournaments!
