Hardy, Protz, and Losier Commit to Jr. Senators

Ottawa, ON – The three-time defending CCHL champion Ottawa Jr. Senators are proud to announce the signings of forward Owen Hardy, defenceman Owen Protz, and forward Zachary Losier.

Hardy, 18, was originally signed with the BCHL’s Victoria Grizzlies but spent the previous two seasons with Lake Forest Academy of the MPHL where he tallied 42 points in 36 career games. The Stittsville native is a product of the Brockville Braves u18 squad, in which he led the team in scoring during the 2019-2020 campaign. Hardy was also a third-round pick of the Sudbury Wolves in the 2020 OHL u18 Priority Selection.

Protz, 16, was a force on the OJS u18 blueline a year ago, scoring 14 points in 32 games. Along with his presence on the u18 team, Protz made an impact for the EOJHL’s Ottawa Jr. Canadians by contributing three points in six playoff games. Recently signed by the OHL’s Sudbury Wolves, the versatile two-way left-handed defenseman is expected to see action at the next level over the course of the season.

Losier, 17, suited up for Ridley College of the MPHL a season ago, recording 14 points in 21 games. A native of Niagara Falls, Losier was selected in the eighth round of the 2021 OHL Priority Selection by the North Bay Battalion. Losier will carry on the tradition of Ridley graduates to have suited up for OJS joining Colin Marshall, Owen Cole, Maxime Blanchard, and Robbie Stewart.

The Jr. Senators commence their title defence on Wednesday, September 21 at the Fred Barrett Arena against the Navan Grads.
