Jr. Senators have win streak snapped by the Cornwall Colts

Ottawa, ON – The Ottawa Jr. Senators had their three game winning streak snapped on Wednesday night after losing 5-3 to the Cornwall Colts at the Jim Durrell Complex.

David Berube had his best game as a member of the Jr. Sens scoring a goal and adding two assists, meanwhile Felix Schnell stopped all nine shots he faced after replacing Josh Ward who allowed 4 goals on 10 shots early in the second period.

Special teams once again played a huge factor in the result of this game as Ottawa was only one for eight on the man advantage meanwhile the Colts converted on two of their seven chances on the power play.  “Not a lot of flow to the game tonight” said Assistant Coach Jamie Mayo “Each team had seven or eight power plays which took away the five on five element of the game, they (Cornwall) scored 4 goals by the halfway mark of the second period, so it was an uphill battle the entire game for us”

The Jr. Senators are back in action Sunday afternoon as they travel to the Steve Yzerman Arena to take on the Nepean Raiders. Puck drop is at 2:30 on mixlr.com/ojsradio and Hockey TV.
