Jr. Sens win third consecutive game over the Nepean Raiders

By Matt Wilson

Ottawa, ON – The Ottawa Jr. Senators are back in the win column for the third straight game as they took down the Nepean Raiders 3-2 on home ice Saturday night.

Goaltending was the story of this hockey game for Nepean as OJS fired 41 shots at Raiders net minder Tyler Laureault who stopped 38 of them in the loss.

Jr. Sens newcomer Vincent Guy played a huge factor in the win, as he scored his 1st and 2nd career goals in the CCHL in only his second game after joining OJS from the Merritt Centennials of the BCHL.

Head Coach Martin Dagenais was impressed with Guy and his line mates Vincent Velocci and Owen Cole in the win.

“Yeah they were good” said Dagenais. “(Vincent) Guy can really shoot the puck, he has a great release and (Vincent) Velocci is a guy that can create turnovers, and obviously playing with Owen Cole who is a skill guy who can make plays all over the ice, it’s something we wanted to try and we will probably try it again tomorrow”

The Jr. Senators have a quick turnaround as they are back in action Sunday afternoon as they travel to the CIHA Arena in Rockland to take on the Nationals, puck drop is at 2:30 and you can catch the game on mixlr.com/ojsradio and Hockey TV.
