Day one of the Ottawa Jr Senators’ main camp kicked off yesterday with six games taking place throughout the day. Each team played at least one game, with some playing two on the opening day.
Team Red and Team Black got the day started with a matchup that ended 4-2 in favour of Team Black. 2025 second-round pick Will Walker and returnee Caleb Mead both scored for Team Red. Oliver Dubbord was a standout for Team Black, scoring a pair of goals during the contest.
The second game of the day featured Teams Purple and Green. This game ultimately ended in a very hard fought tie between the two sides. Team Purple’s goals came courtesy of Jr Senators 2025 first-round pick Evan Graham and 2024 draft pick Fenix Alfredsson. Meanwhile, returnee Wynston Iserhoff and Christophe Giguere scored for Team Green.
Next, Team Burgundy faced off against Team Blue. The Blue squad dominated the match with the contest ending in a 6-3 score line in their favour. Jr Senators defender Adam Gauthier scored a pair of pretty goals late in the game, while Captain Tomislav Brennan also got involved in the scoring. Additional Team Blue goal scorers included Serhii Levchenko, Gaven Dupont-Descarie and Jack Taschereau. The three goals scored by Team Burgundy went to Maxwell Windle, Loic Bouchard and Matthew D’Urso.
The fourth matchup of the afternoon, Team Orange go into battle against Team White. The final score of 4-2 went in favour of Team White. Jr Senators forwards Eric Kane and Lincoln Emmerson scored goals for Orange, while Taige Soneji, Wynston Iserhoff, Justin Oullette and Ian Burnett picked up goals for Team White.
The final game of the day featured Teams Red and Green. This ended up being the highest-scoring contest of the day with a final score of 7-4 in favour of Team Green. Gabriel Pollyviou Ty Semour scored a pair of goals for Team Green while Caleb Rashleigh and Anthony Chateauvert also picked up goals in the game. Team Red pushed back late with goals coming from Walker, Jr Sens defender Merlin Offman, Jr Sens forward Clement Valette and Caleb Hamilton.
Action resumes this afternoon, with a long slate of games that will go on from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Later this evening, rosters for the All-Star game on Sunday will be announced after the conclusion of today’s games.
