OJS picks up much needed 4-2 win over Nepean

Nepean, ON: The Ottawa Junior Senators took care of business Sunday afternoon defeating the Nepean Raiders 4-2 at the Nepean Sportsplex. A big, much needed win for the Junior Sens as they stay in 6th overall in CCHL standings.

Ottawa dominated the first frame outshooting the Raiders 18-10. Thomas Freel got the scoring started on the PP with his 22nd of the season, taking a pass along the goal-line and walking through the crease, and sliding it past Alnahas. Ottawa would add yet another Power Play goal in the frame as Tucker McIntosh picked up his 9th of the season on a seeing eye point shot into the top right corner. Nepean, however, would push back late in the period when Zachary Gravel would pick up yet another goal against his former team.

Freel would then add his second goal of the game in the early stages of the second period taking a rebound off of the end boards and putting it into the empty cage for his 23rd of the season. After that, the second period was fairly quiet, as Ottawa did a good job of locking down the Power Play of the Raiders.

Ottawa took over the game in the third period getting a big goal from Mark MacPhee at the 3:39 mark of the final period. With that goal, MacPhee extends his goal streak to two games and his 3rd goal in his last two games.

The next game for the Jr. Sens comes tonight back at home when the Rockland Nationals come into the Jim Durrell Complex for the final meeting between the two clubs. You can catch all the action on mixlr.com/ojsradio and on Hockey TV!
