Ottawa finishes Round-Robin 2-0-1 with a win over Yarmouth

Amherst, Nova Scotia – The Ottawa Jr Senators scored three unanswered goals to defeat the Yarmouth Mariners 5-2 in their final Round-Robin game.

Ottawa finished Round-Robin play with a 2-0-1 record and seven points in the tournament. They finished second place and had a meeting with the host Amherst Ramblers in the Semi-Finals Saturday night.

Matt Barron would score the first goal off Blair Battochio’s turnover in the Ottawa zone, then the Jr. Sens would score two unanswered goals coming 10 seconds apart before Brent Broaders would tie it back up.

Elie Boulerice netted the game winning goal early in the second period coming on the power play.

The Jr. Senators and Mariners were tied 2-2 heading towards the third period, before Ottawa tallied three unanswered goals.

Kyle Jackson picked up his second of the tournament after Boulerice fed him the puck on an 2-on-1. Andrew Remer got his first two-goal game of his career. Both Boulerice and Cole each tallied two points while Walsh ended up with two assists.

Both Alex Rossides and Brendan Bays made their Fred Page Cup debut, filling in for Noah Rowe and Chris Piche after they were both suspended one game. Bisson was out of the lineup with an upper body injury. Joshua Ward also played his first game since March 9th. He made 29 saves throughout the game.

Ottawa outshot Yarmouth 36-31 and were 2-for-7 on the man advantage while they were 5-for-5 on the penalty kill.
