Ottawa, Rockland and Kanata complete blockbuster deal

Ottawa, Ont. — Three teams — Ottawa, Rockland and Kanata — made a major shockwave on Monday afternoon, as the Jr. Senators, Nationals and Lasers completed a three-way deal featuring two former major-junior players and an NHL draft prospect.

Rockland acquired forward David Pearce (’98) and a PDF from Ottawa in exchange for forward Aaron Brisebois (’98), who the Jr. Senators then flipped to Kanata in a straight swap for forward Ethan Manderville (’00).

Pearce, who spent two seasons with the OHL’s Ottawa 67’s, had three assists in nine games with the Jr. Senators this season.

Brisebois, a member of the QMJHL’s Acadie-Bathurst Titan last season, had 14 points (4G, 10A) in 13 games with Rockland prior to Monday’s trade.

Manderville, a 6-foot-4 forward ranked by NHL Central Scouting ahead of next June’s Entry Draft, had 16 points (5G, 11A) in 23 games with Kanata.
