Ottawa takes Game One of the Fred Page Cup

Amherst, Nova Scotia – The Ottawa Jr. Senators took Game One of the Fred Page Cup Round-Robin, defeating the host Amherst Ramblers 4-1 on Wednesday night.

The defending Fred Page Cup Champions got off to a strong in the first period, outshooting the Ramblers 18-7 and leading 2-0 after one.

Colin Marshall opened the scoring for Ottawa – deflecting in Bailey Brant’s shot from the point. Then Noah Rowe sneaked in through the backdoor, and took Conor Smart’s pass and fired it into the net for a 2-0 lead.

Later in the game, Darcy Walsh and David Toppa both found the top of the net to give Ottawa a 4-0 lead. Francis Boisvert made 29-saves for his first career Fred Page Cup win and Danny Pion recorded two-assists. Pion set up Ottawa’s first and fourth goals, winning two battles in the Amherst corner.

Ottawa is back in action today (Thursday, May 2nd) at 3:00 AT (2:00 ET) against the Princeville Titan. Both of these two teams have a 1-0 record in the Fred Page Cup.
