Ottawa wins 4-3 over Rockland

Ottawa, Ontario – The Ottawa Jr. Senators (37-16-3) just came away with a 4-3 win over the Rockland Nationals (34-15-5) on Wednesday night at the Jim Durrell Sports Complex.

The Rockland Nationals made it closer than it should have been late in the third period. With Ottawa leading 4-1 in the final five minutes, the Nats’ scored two unanswered goals to make it a one-goal game.

Kyle Jackson’s 19th at the halfway mark of the third frame turned out to be the difference. Francis Boisvert made 26-saves on 29-shots in the victory. Despite not getting tested early in the game, Boisvert had to make 5-saves in the final two minutes to secure the win.

Darcy Walsh scored his 30th goal of the season. He was sprung on a breakaway and made no mistake, going five-hole with Rockland goaltender Joe Giacobbo was set up for the high shot. Walsh ties the league lead in goals and becomes just the seventh player under Martin Dagenais (last five years) to reach the 30-goal mark.

Walsh also becomes the second fastest player to 30-goals under Martin Dagenais. The fastest was Nick Lalonde (2017-18) when he scored 30-goals in 47-games.

Ottawa wins the season series over Rockland 4-2. They’ve also extended their winning-streak to two games after having their three game skid snapped on Saturday.

The Ottawa Jr. Senators next game is this Friday at 7:30 in Navan.
