Ottawa, ON – The Ottawa Junior Senators suffer their worst loss of the season falling to the hands of the Rockland Nationals by a score of 5-0. Felix Scnhell made just 18 saves in his first regulation loss of the season, dropping his record to 6-1-2 on the season.

Cole Craft opened the scoring for the Rockland Nationals. They generated a turnover in the neutral zone and quickly turned the play back towards the Ottawa zone on a 2-on-1. Simon Labelle picked up his 12th assist on the play. Rockland outshot Ottawa in the first 8-5 in what was a very back and forth first period.

The Nationals got off to a quick start in the second as well scoring off the rush just 23 seconds into the second period. Cameron Last sniped one over the shoulder of Schnell to make it 2-0. Shortly thereafter, the Nationals extended their lead to 3-0 as Joe Jordan picked up his 4th goal of the year with a sharp angle shot from the left circle through the wickets of Scnhell.

Ottawa then tried to push back in the third as they pulled their goalie with 10 minutes left in the third period to try and push back on the power-play. But the push was very short lived as Simon Labelle stripped his man of the puck and made no mistake sliding it in the empty net to seal the deal at 4-0. Rockland would then add their 5th and final goal with under two minutes to go in the third as Andrew Aboumossa stole the puck from Ranvir Gill-Shane and slid it past Schnell.

Cole Hudson picked up his first shutout of the season for the Nationals as he comes away with his 11th win on the season. He was very solid in the Nationals net stopping all 21 shots he faced.

Next game for the Jr. Sens will be on Friday December 6th as they travel to Hawkesbury for the second time this season to face off against Luke Grainger and the Hawks. You can catch that game on mixlr.com/ojsradio.
