Sens ink Renzi

The Ottawa Junior Senators attempts to solidify their offensive attack for the 2018-2019 CCHL season continued today with the signing of Canton, Michigan native Justin Renzi. Renzi was the second leading scorer for traditional Michigan powerhouse, Detroit Belle Tire last season.

“Justin is a playmaking forward with good speed and vision,” remarked Jr Senators Head Coach Martin Dagenais. “He will be given every opportunity to skate in our top three lines and help bring us some offence.”

Renzi is ecstatic about furthering his hockey career, north of the border.

“When Ottawa first contacted me I knew that was where I wanted to continue my hockey career. They have a great coaching staff with a lot of experience in the game. It’s a winning and hard working, cultured team with years of success to prove it. Ottawa being Canada’s capital is also very cool. Being able just to live away a few minutes from downtown Ottawa is unbelievable.”

The five foot nine left shot playmaker sees himself as someone who can play a variety of roles on next year’s club.

“What I am going bring to Ottawa is creativity, hard work, and unselfishness. I like to get into scrums and make great plays for my teammates. No quit on every single shift, Play every shift like it’s your last”.

Renzi hopes to help bring the Junior Senators to another Bogart Cup Title and eventually continue his career at the NCAA level while pursuing an education..

Renzi will report to Ottawa on Sunday, August 19th for the start of main camp. Regular season opens on Saturday, September 1st.
