The Junior Senators defeat the Lasers 5-4

The Ottawa Junior Senators' offense had a big night, peppering the Kanata Lasers with 35 shots throughout the game. The Ottawa Junior Senators took the lead before the halfway point in the third on a goal from Grant Turner.

Malcolm Palmer did his part, adding 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Shane Spencer chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). Alex Gagnon contributed with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) and Alex Johnston delivered for his team with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists).

In the first, Gagnon opened the scoring for the Lasers with a goal at 14:58 with a helper from Johnston.

During the second, Spencer answered for Ottawa with a goal at 2:46 with a helper from his teammate Jackson. Palmer quickly followed with a goal at 4:02 with assists from Mcgregor and Battochio. Barber answered for Kanata with a goal at 9:18. Palmer quickly followed with a goal at 9:50 with assists from Spencer and Martin. Larsen answered for the Lasers with a goal at 12:47 with helpers from Gagnon and Johnston. Johnston quickly followed with a goal at 13:00 with helpers from his linemates, Gagnon and Van Tiem.

In the third period, Boulerice answered for the Junior Senators with a goal at 5:06 with assists from Piche and Caruso. Turner put in what turned out to be the game winning goal at 7:13 with assists from Boulerice and Palmer.

Ottawa’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Boisvert as he stopped 11 of the 13 shots he faced. Boisvert’s counterpart, Pledge-Dickson, also had a big night, managing to stop 17 of 20, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Ottawa Junior Senators’ record to (1-1-1-0).
