The Junior Senators defeat the Raiders 5-3

The Ottawa Junior Senators' offense had a big night, peppering the Nepean Raiders with 32 shots throughout the game. The Ottawa Junior Senators took the lead early in the third on a goal from Craig Mccabe.

Pierre-Luc Veillette chipped in with 2 goals and Craig Mccabe contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). Ryan Horvath delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

In the first, Belisle opened the scoring for the Raiders with a goal at 7:13 with helpers from his linemates, Horvath and Arseneau. Veillette answered for Ottawa with a goal at 10:19 with helpers from Walsh and Mccabe.

In the second, Guy netted a goal at 5:35 with assists from his linemates, Anderson and Blacksmith. Horvath answered for Nepean with a goal at 10:09 with helpers from his linemates, Mccaughey and Belec. Veillette answered for the Junior Senators with a goal at 13:53 with assists from his linemates, Boulerice and Walsh.

During the third period, Mccabe scored what turned out to be the game winning goal at 3:44 with a helper from his defensive partner, Daniels. Gauthier quickly followed with a goal at 4:13. Smart answered for Ottawa with a goal at 6:46 with assists from his linemates, Blacksmith and Anderson.

The Junior Senators’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Carriere as he stopped 18 of the 21 shots he faced. Carriere’s counterpart, Souliere, also had a big night, managing to stop 27 of 32, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Ottawa Junior Senators’ record to (13-3-1-1).
