Tucker McIntosh commits to St. Lawrence University for 2021-22

Ottawa, ON –  The Ottawa Jr. Senators are proud to announce that ’01 born D Tucker McIntosh has committed to St. Lawrence University for the 2021-22 season.

McIntosh, 18, has 7 assists in 12 games played so far this season after verbally committing to the Jr. Senators on February 14th of 2019.

“Tucker is a player that we have closely followed the last two years.” said Head Coach of the Jr. Senators Martin Dagenais. “When he committed to us earlier this year, we knew we had a special player. He’s a good kid with an excellent work ethic and has a tremendous skill set which will help him succeed at the Div. 1 level. He still has lots to learn, but he’ll get there, and once he does, he’ll be one of the league’s top defenceman. St. Lawrence is getting a good one.”

With captain Owen Cole committed to UMass-Lowell, Tucker McIntosh becomes the second player from the Jr. Senators to commit to an NCAA Division 1 program and he couldn’t be more excited about the commitment.

“Couldn’t be happier with my decision.” said McIntosh “I had already gone to St. Lawrence about a year ago with my school to play in a showcase and I immediately loved It, I went down earlier this week for a visit and knew I wanted to go there. The coaches are awesome and I feel I can succeed both academically and athletically and I couldn’t be more excited.”

McIntosh will join two former Jr. Senators, goaltender Francis Boisvert and defenceman Cameron White, as a member of the Saints when he begins play at the school in 2021-22.
