Week 16 Power-Rankings

  1. Carleton Place Canadians (34-3-3) (CJHL #1=2) | LW: 1 (–) | Results: 4-1L at KAN, 7-2W at ROC, 3-1W at PEM | It was a bitter sweet week for the Carleton Place Canadians. They lost their first regulation contest since September 29th and snapped their streak of recording at least a point in 25 straight contests. They did go 2-1 this week but ultimately fell out of the CJHL’s #1 in the country spot. They are still number one in the CCHL none the less.

 

  1. Ottawa Jr. Senators (29-6-3) (CJHL #9) | LW: 2 (–) | Results: 5-4L at KEM, 4-2OTW vs BRO | Ottawa had one of their toughest weeks of the season. They lost a heart breaker to Kemptville on Friday and just edged Brockville on Saturday night in overtime after they were trailing going into the third. They now drop to #9 in CJHL.

 

  1. Kanata Lasers (20-13-5) | LW: 4 (+1) | Results: 4-1W vs CP, 4-2W vs PEM, 3-2OTL at ROC | The Lasers continued their hot play this week with a BIG win over the Carleton Place Canadians on Thursday and two good performances over the weekend. They finished the week 2-0-1 and are 5-0-2 since the start of December.

 

  1. Brockville Braves (22-13-2) | LW: 3 (-1) | Results: 5-3W vs NEP, 4-3OTL at OJS | Brockville had their seven game win streak snapped on Saturday after they lost the lead in Ottawa. They’re two games this week suggests that they are the number three seed but Kanata’s red hot play brings them to #4 this week.

 

  1. Cornwall Colts (19-13-5) | LW: 6 (+1) | Results: 4-2W vs PEM, 4-2W at HAW | Cornwall picked up two huge victories over Pembroke and Hawkesbury and have now won six straight games.

 

  1. Hawkesbury Hawks (22-11-1) | LW: 5 (-1) | Results: 4-2L vs CRW, 6-1W vs NAV | The Hawks are good but just ran into a hot team in the Cornwall Colts on Friday. #6 on the power-rankings does not justify their actual ranking based off their 4-2 record in December.

 

  1. Pembroke Lumber Kings(16-19-1) | LW: 7 (-1) Results | 4-2L at CRW, 3-1L at KAN, 3-1 vs CP | The Lumber Kings giant slump brings them below .500 for the first time this season after going 0-3 last week. They have now lost eight straight games.

 

  1. Rockland Nationals (17-18-3) | LW: 8 (+1) | Results: 7-2L vs CP, 3-2OTW vs KAN | Rockland is still one game under .500 after going 1-1 this week. The Nat’s move up to #7 after a win over Kanata on Sunday.

 

  1. Smiths Falls Bears(12-19-4) | LW: 9 (-) | Results: 6-3W vs NAV, 4-2W at NEP | It still remains to be seen if the Bears can make a push for the playoffs after a 2-0 week. They are now one point out of eighth place.

 

  1. Nepean Raiders (12-21-3) | LW: 10 (-) | Results: 6-3W vs KEM, 5-3L vs BRO, 4-2L vs SF | After going 2-1 last week the Raiders won on Wednesday and dropped their last two games. It could get interesting as they are only six points out of a playoff spot.

 

  1. Kemptville 73’s (10-29-1) | LW: 11 (-) | Results: 6-3L at NEP, 5-4 vs OJS, | The 73’s started the week on a bad note but finished really strong. Give the team credit for beating the Jr. Senators on Friday.

 

  1. Navan Grads (9-28-0) | LW: 12 (-) | Results: 6-3L at SF, 6-1L vs HAW | Navan as a lot of promise with the mix of veterans and young talent but can’t find a way to string together a few wins here and there. They are now 0-6 since the start of November.
