Ottawa, Ont. — Last week was, as the kids say, lit.
Six games were played in the span of a single day at the CCHL’s Thanksgiving Showcase at CIH Arena in Rockland; the Hawkesbury Hawks ran the table in Week 6, while the Cornwall Colts went 0-for-3.

STORYLINES
- Injuries — It seems like injuries have hit the league’s top players harder than usual this season; top Ottawa forwards Owen Guy and Nick Lalonde — both injured Sept. 27 vs. Cornwall — are on the long-term IR, Navan captain Zach Salloum has also been out since Sept. 24. All three were amongst the league’s top scorers when they went down; the Jr. Sens have survived on their depth, but the Grads have struggled.
- All Eyes on Kemptville — The 73’s showed the usual boost in form following the hiring of Jeff Jordan, beating Pembroke and playing 55 win-calibre minutes against Rockland. The question is now: Was that a temporary boost, or will Jordan’s systems lead Kemptville back into the playoff mix?
- The Talented Mr. Sauve — Though few had them pegged as a top-four team, the Rockland Nationals have come out of the gate flying en route to a 9-4-2 record. But with a visit from the Jr. Sens and a trip to Cornwall looming this week, Dan Sauve’s group must prove its mettle against a top team in Ottawa and a desperate team in the Colts.
