Yoan Gagnon Commits To Lake Forest College

In exciting offseason news, Yan Gagnon, who played for the Ottawa Jr Senators last season, announced his commitment to Lake Forest College to play Division III hockey next season.

Gagnon scored eight goals and added five assists in 39 games with the Jr Senators last season. The 2005-born forward joined the team partway through the season and played a critical role in Ottawa’s playoff push during the second half of the season.

On the ice, his impressive work ethic and hockey sense allowed him to thrive in a defensive role. He could be relied upon to play critical minutes for Ottawa when they were clinging to a lead late in a game.

The penalty kill is where Gagnon really shone last season. Not only did he shut down the opponent’s power play, but he was a sneaky threat to score shorthanded. In multiple games last season, he scored a critical goal shorthanded to turn the tide in favour of his team.

The Jr Senators want to congratulate Gagnon on his commitment to play NCAA hockey and wish him all the best when he transitions to the next stage of his hockey career.
