Boisvert Named CCM Player of the Week

Ottawa, Ont. — The Central Canada Hockey League announced Tuesday that Ottawa Jr. Senators goaltender Francis Boisvert has been named CCM Player of the Week for Week 9 (Oct. 24-30).

Boisvert, an 18-year-old Blainville, Que. native, stopped 60 shots over the course of two games en route to a pair of shutout victories against Cornwall (10/26) and Smiths Falls (10/28).

The uncommitted Ottawa goaltender in his first CCHL season now owns a stellar 1.80 goals-against average (2nd in CCHL) and .930 save-% (T-3rd).

Week-9 honourable mentions went to Kemptville forward Ashton Fry and Pembroke forward Brendan Browne.

Fry, 19, netted a hat-trick in Kemptville’s 5-4 win against Brockville (10/29). The uncommitted Highlands Ranch, Co. native — now sporting an “A” — has 16 points (7G, 9A) in 19 games in 2017-18, his first season in the CCHL.

Browne, 19, posted five points (3G, 2A) over the course of two Pembroke wins against Nepean (10/27) and Hawkesbury (10/29). The uncommitted Markham, Ont. native is producing at better than a point-per-game pace, with 23 points (11G, 13A) in 20 games.
