Desmarais, Jacques honoured for February performances

Ottawa, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League announced on Thursday the CCM Hockey Performers of the Month and the Gongshow Gear Three Stars of the Month for February.

William Desmarais earns Goaltender of the month honours as the 2001 born Sherbrooke, QC native totaled a record of 8-1-0-0, making 237 saves, while sporting a 1.88 GAA and a .933 SV% helping OJS solidify their position as the top-ranked club in the CCHL. He had 30+ save efforts in Wins Vs the Kemptville 73’s, Rockland Nationals, and Renfrew Wolves on two occasions. On the season, Desmarais leads the CCHL in Wins with 19 while sitting 2nd in GAA (2.01) and SV% (.930).

After being named an honourable mention for forward of the month, Philippe Jacques earns third star honours. The 2002 born Quebec City, QC native totaled 20 points (8G, 12A) in 11 games of action, in which he was named 1st star on three occasions, while also earning a 2nd star honour once. He had five multiple-point efforts, including a 4 point (1G, 3A) game in Ottawa’s victory over Nepean and a 2-goal effort in the Junior Senators win against Carleton Place. On the year, Jacques sits second overall in the CCHL scoring race with 58 points (25G, 33A) in 37 games of action.
