The Central Canada Hockey League and Ottawa Jr Senators are pleased to announce that ’96 born F Luke McCaw will suit up for the Laurentian University Hockey Program in the fall.

McCaw, who is a native of St. Johns, NL originally made his way into the CCHL when the Nepean Raiders acquired him from the BCHL’s Powell River Kings in June of 2014.  In 96 games with the Raiders he would tally 20 goals and total 46 points before the Jr Senators acquired him mid-way through the 2016 season.

In 88 regular season games with Ottawa, the 6-0, 190 lb two-way center would go on to score 25 goals and total 77 points.  It was the playoffs with Ottawa where McCaw did most of his damage though, rising to the occasion he would put up 14 goals and 32 points in 32 games.

“Luke is a proven playoff performer who will be able to bring a strong overall game to the CIS level,” said Jr Sens Head Coach Martin Dagenais.  “He excels on faceoffs, and was a staple on the ice in all game situations.  He was a key member of our organization over the past two seasons and we wish him all the best moving forward with Laurentian University.”

McCaw is the third CCHL talent to join Laurentian University in the past week, joining Hawkesbury Hawks D Tyler Cooper, and Cumberland Grads F Xavier Couture.
