The Ottawa Jr Senators of the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) are pleased to announce that forward Teddy Simson has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Hamilton College this coming fall.  The Hamilton College Hockey Program plays in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC).

“I am really excited to be attending Hamilton College next fall,” said Simson.  “Hamilton provides a unique opportunity for me to play high-end hockey while getting an education.

Simson, 20, played one season with the Jr Senators, notching 7 goals and 29 points in 69 combined regular season and playoff games.  Before joining the CCHL ranks, the Chatham, NJ native spent two seasons with Kent School of the United States High School circuit.

“I had a great experience in the CCHL,” Simson said.  “This year I was happy to expand my game while getting a lot of exposure.  It ultimately allowed me to move on to the college level.  We had a great group of guys in Ottawa and it was awesome to make it to the Bogart Cup Finals.  I am grateful to the players and staff at OJS for giving me an unforgettable year of junior hockey.”

The Jr Sens finished the regular season 41-18-1-2, to claim their fifth straight Yzerman Division Title.  In the post-season they knocked off Brockville and Cornwall before falling to the Carleton Place Canadians in the Bogart Cup Finals.

“Teddy was a depth player for us early on, but really stepped his game up in the playoffs,” said Jr Senators Head Coach Martin Dagenais.  “He is a kid that didn’t produce a ton of points, but was a solid overall contributor because he played the game the right way.  We were able to use him in all situations and he will do very well at Hamilton College because of this ability.”
