It’s been a busy week for GM Patrick McCallen. Yesterday, the Ottawa Jr Senators acquired 40-plus point producer Deklyn Campbell from the Nepean Raiders in exchange for 2006-born forward Lucas Leblanc. In Campbell, Ottawa gains a high-skill forward and a proven scorer at the CCHL level.
A change of scenery could be exactly what Campbell needs. He started the 2025-26 season in the NAHL playing for the Elmira Aviators before returning to the Raiders. Campbell made his CCHL debut during the 2023-24 season with the Hawkesbury Hawks. As a 17-year-old rookie, he scored 11 points in 54 games. The following season in Nepean, he burst onto the scene, scoring 44 points in 53 games to finish the season as the second-highest scorer on the team.
With Campbell in the lineup, Ottawa becomes a much deeper team. They can now ice a group of centres that includes Ethan Lobe, Campbell, team-leading scorer Clement Valette and David Deschatelets, which is easily one of the deepest groups of centres in the league.
In addition to the deal for Campbell, the Jr Sens sent Antoine Demers’ rights to the OJHL’s Bonnyville Pontiacs in exchange for a player development fee. The Ottawa Jr Senators would like to thank Lucas and Antoine for
