OJS COMMITS TO POWER FORWARD ANDREW REMER

OTTAWA – The Ottawa Jr. Senators are proud to announce the signing of power forward Andrew Remer from Lake Orion, Michigan. The 18 year-old left winger, who played for the Detroit Belle Tire last season, is thrilled to join the Senators’ organization.

“I chose to come to Ottawa based on the great success of the organization over the last few years. I followed the team this past year quite a bit during their journey to the RBC Cup and figured I had to be a part of it.”

Head Coach and General Manager Martin Dagenais thinks that Remer will bring forward depth, and most importantly, physical play.

“He’s a big forward who doesn’t shy away from physical play, and that’s always a need for us. Obviously, we like his size, but the kid can also skate and he goes to the dirty areas. Our staff feels that he fills a need on our hockey team.”

Remer agrees with his new head coach, and he plans to make his presence felt as soon as the season starts.

“I will be able to bring high intensity every single shift. No matter what I’ll always give everything I have to help out, not only in the offensive zone, but in the defensive zone as well. I will do anything I can to give the team a better chance of winning.”

The young forward has high hopes for his team, but also for himself when it comes to the upcoming hockey season.

“As a team, I hope to we can get to the RBC Cup next season. Personally, I would like to improve every single day, and to do this, I know I will have to work hard at every practice, and during every off-ice session. Eventually, I would love to move on to play NCAA Hockey, and hopefully professional hockey beyond that.”
