The Junior Senators defeat the Nationals 5-4

The Ottawa Junior Senators' offense had a big night, peppering the Rockland Nationals with 35 shots throughout the game. The Ottawa Junior Senators took the lead late in the third on a goal from Conor Smart.

Pierre-Luc Veillette delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). Drew Shields ‘c’had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Mathieu Blanchette contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

During the first, Coykendall opened the scoring for the Nationals with a goal at 2:43 with helpers from his teammates Beatty and Brennan ‘a’. Blanchette netted a goal at 9:27 with helpers from his linemates, Coykendall and Stanley. Blacksmith quickly followed with a goal at 9:49 with assists from his linemates, Guy and Mattawashish.

In the second period, Shields ‘c’answered for the Nationals with a goal at 1:19. Mccabe answered for the Junior Senators with a goal at 12:39 with assists from Mcgurn and Pearce.

In the third, Veillette deposited a goal at 1:15 with helpers from Daniels and Walsh. Boulerice netted a goal at 9:00 with a helper from his linemate Veillette. Smart scored what turned out to be the game winning goal at 16:18 with an assist from Mcgregor. Lavoie ‘a’quickly followed with a goal at 17:03 with helpers from his linemates, Blanchette and Shields ‘c’.

Ottawa’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Carriere as he stopped 18 of the 22 shots he faced. Carriere’s counterpart, Storr, also had a big night, managing to stop 30 of 34, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Ottawa Junior Senators’ record to (15-3-1-1).
