Ottawa, ON – The Ottawa Jr. Senators dropped another tight game to the Kemptville 73’s on Wednesday night at the Jim Durrell Sports Complex losing 4-3 in the 5th and final game of the season series between the two teams.

Madoka Suzuki opened the scoring for the 73’s with a nice shot on the power play that beat a screened Bryan Landsberger to give the 73’s an early one-goal lead, Thomas Freel and Mark MacPhee then scored back to back for OJS midway through the 1st but Gavin Wood ended the first period with another PP goal for the 73’s to end a high scoring opening 20 minutes of play with the score tied 2-2.

The Jr. Senators played much better in the 2nd Period of play doubling up the 73’s on the shot clock 12-6 but the lone goal of the period was scored by Hunter Brazier on a breakaway which gave Kemptville a lead that they never looked back from.

“I didn’t think we executed very well today,” said acting Head Coach Jamie Mayo, who wasn’t a fan of his team’s execution throughout the entire game. “Our effort was there, but our execution passing wise and on the attack just wasn’t up to the standard we have set here in Ottawa.”

Hunter Brazier added his 2nd goal of the game into the empty net at the 18:14 mark of the 3rd Period but Mark MacPhee got OJS back within a goal once again with the extra attacker on the ice, but in the end, it was too little too late for the Jr. Senators. Ottawa finished the night 0-6 on the power play.

OJS is back in action Sunday afternoon at the Steve Yzerman Arena to take on the Nepean Raiders for the final time this season, you can catch all the action on mixlr.com/ojsradio and on Hockey TV!
