Cole scored double-overtime winner, and OJS takes game one

Ottawa, Ontario – Owen Cole scored the double-overtime winner, and the Ottawa Jr. Senators defeated the Brockville Braves 2-1 on Sunday, March 31st inside the Jim Durrell Sports Complex.

Owen Cole found a loose puck in the Braves crease and flipped it over the shoulder of the diving goaltender Liam Souliere at 13:11 of double-overtime. Ottawa takes a 1-0 series lead. Cole’s overtime winner is his second OT-winner of the season, and his third goal of the playoffs.

Danny Pion opened the scoring in the second period, but Brockville’s Michael DiGregorio tied it midway through the third period. Both of them got the monkey of their back, scoring their first playoff goals.

Ottawa outshot Brockville 43-23 in the win. They also went 1-5 on the powerplay and 5-5 on the penalty kill. The game lasted just over 86-minutes.
