Jack Moffat inks contract with OJS

Ottawa, ON – The Ottawa Jr. Senators are pleased to announce the signing of defenceman Jack Moffat, who spent last season with the Waterloo Wolves U18 AAA program.

The 6’4, 185 lbs Cambridge, Ontario native tallied one goal and three assists in 28 games during the 2021-2022 campaign. Moffat also added a goal in two playoff games.

“I chose the Junior Senators because they are a championship team with a good track record for developing players, said Moffat. I can’t wait for the season to start.”
With plenty of losses to key graduating players on the back end, the Jr. Senators will heavily use the big frame of Moffat to patrol the blue line.

“I like to play with the puck on my stick and score goals. I also play a very aggressive and physical game, especially in the defensive zone.,” added Moffat.”

Moffatt will be no stranger to junior hockey after appearing in seven games as an affiliated player with the GOJHL’s Ayr Centennials a year ago. The former tenth-round pick of the OHL’s Guelph Storm in 2021 is hoping to use OJS as a stepping stone to get to the next level.

“My plan with hockey is to achieve an NCAA D1 scholarship,” explained Moffat. “Then I plan on playing in the NHL.”

Moffat and the rest of the Jr. Senators will arrive in Ottawa on September 6th as main camp will start the next day out of the Fred Barrett arena in Leitrim.
