Lalonde's hat trick helped the Junior Senators crush the Nationals 8-4

Nick Lalonde led the way with a hat trick as the Ottawa Junior Senators crushed the Rockland Nationals 8-4 in a home game at Jim Durrell Sports Complex – Arena 1 in Ottawa. In addition, the Ottawa Junior Senators' offense had a big night, peppering Rockland with 41 shots throughout the game. The Ottawa Junior Senators took the lead before the halfway point in the third on a goal from Darcy Walsh.

Conor Smart contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Elie Boulerice delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). Jordan Power had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 2 assists and Connor Beatty chipped in with 2 assists.

During the first period, Kennedy opened the scoring for Rockland with a goal at 9:16 with helpers from his teammates Beatty and Power. Lalonde answered for Ottawa with a goal at 13:43 with helpers from Thomas and Blacksmith. Evans put in a goal at 16:25 with assists from his linemates, Walsh and Veillette.

In the second period, Kennedy answered for Rockland with a goal at 1:05 with assists from his linemates, Gosselin and Beatty. Shields ‘c’netted a goal at 6:45 with a helper from defenseman Power. Boulerice answered for Ottawa with a goal at 11:54 with assists from Salloum and Evans.

During the third, Lalonde scored a goal at 4:58 with helpers from his linemates, Boulerice and Veillette. Walsh put in what turned out to be the game winning goal at 9:52 with an assist from Smart. Lalonde netted a goal at 15:04 with a helper from Blacksmith. Kennedy answered for the Nationals with a goal at 17:42 with an assist from Pruneau. Mcgregor quickly followed with a goal at 18:32 with a helper from defenseman Bisson. Smart quickly followed with a goal at 19:38 with assists from Salloum and Mcgregor.

The Junior Senators’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Hicks as he stopped 5 of the 8 shots he faced. Hicks’ counterpart, Roy, also had a big night, managing to stop 33 of 40, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Ottawa Junior Senators’ record to (43-7-1-5).
