Smart's hat trick helped the Junior Senators crush the Lasers 7-1

Conor Smart led the way with a hat trick as the Ottawa Junior Senators crushed the Kanata Lasers 7-1 in a home game at Kanata Recreation Complex – Tom Flood Arena in Ottawa. In addition, Francis Boisvert came up big, stopping 30 of 31 shots throughout the game. The Ottawa Junior Senators took the lead late in the first on a goal from Owen Guy and never looked back.

Owen Guy chipped in with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Craig Mccabe had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

During the first period, Smart opened the scoring for Ottawa with a goal at 9:48 with helpers from Anderson and Mccabe. Bunka answered for the Lasers with a goal at 14:16 with helpers from his teammates Quinn and Poeze. Guy quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 15:59 with assists from Blacksmith and Bisson.

In the second, Guy scored a goal at 1:11 with helpers from Daniels and Walsh. Smart netted a goal at 6:49 with assists from Anderson and Daniels. Mccabe put in a goal at 12:14 with helpers from Pearce and Blacksmith. Boulerice deposited a goal at 17:01 with an assist from Veillette.

In the third, Smart scored a goal at 14:32 with helpers from Guy and Denis.

The Junior Senators’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Boisvert’s big night as he stopped 30 of the 31 shots he faced. On the other hand, Boisvert’s counterpart, Marcouiller, and Kanata’s defense had some trouble stopping only 4 of 8 shots.

This win brings the Ottawa Junior Senators’ record to (14-3-1-1).
